Sizing your package

Not every guest blends, and at a co-ed event fewer of the men usually do, so a package tends to cover a larger room than its bottle count suggests. We will size it with you before you book, and each package allows a set number of extra bottles if your list grows.

Included in every package

The bar

Travertine, acrylic and gold, styled with fresh flowers

The library

Twelve notes, poured at the scent gallery

Your attendant

Guides each guest through building their blend

The bottle

A 30ml take-home blend for every guest

The gift bag

Scoring cards, finished with grosgrain ribbon

White glove service

Setup and strike, handled entirely by us

Venue partnerships

For bridal studios, boutiques, hotels and shops who want a pop-up their clients remember. Each partnership is built with you rather than chosen from a menu, so pricing is quoted per event.

Guaranteed minimum

You guarantee a revenue floor for the date. Everything guests spend at the bar counts toward it, so you cover only the gap, and often nothing at all.

Retail on site

Guests build and buy their bottle at the bar during the event. Your visitors leave with something, and every sale counts toward your minimum.

Partner pricing

Bottles for your own clients, gifted or built into your packages, at a partner rate below retail.

Availability

We take a small number of partnership dates each season so each one gets planned properly.

Frequently asked questions

The experience

Is the bar co-ed?

Yes, and nothing in the library is gendered. Vetiver, sandalwood, mahogany and teak and bergamot build beautifully on anyone. In practice fewer of the men blend than the women, which is one reason packages are sized by bottles rather than by headcount.

What actually happens at the bar?

Each guest smells through twelve notes on blotters and scores what they love on a card. An attendant then pours their blend, one top note, one heart and one base, into a 30ml bottle they take home.

How should I choose my twelve notes?

We choose them together from the full eighteen note library, usually four tops, four hearts and four bases so every guest can build something balanced. If your event has a season or a color story, we build the selection around it.

How long does each guest spend at the bar?

A few minutes to smell and score, a few more to blend. Guests drift over across the event rather than queuing at once, which is why packages are sized by bottles rather than by the hour.

Will every guest want a bottle?

Usually not, and that is worth knowing before you size your package. Not every guest blends, and at a co-ed event fewer of the men do, so a package tends to cover a larger room than its bottle count suggests.

What if my guest list is larger than 100?

That is a Charter event. We scale the hours and quote it for your room, with three attendants at the bar.

Booking and travel

How far do you travel?

Travel within an hour of Ponte Vedra is included, which covers St. Augustine, Jacksonville, Amelia Island and most of the First Coast. Beyond that we charge $75 per hour of travel time, quoted from standard drive times before you book.

How early should I book?

Dates go early, and spring and fall weekends fill first. We plan each event closely with you, so the sooner you reach out the more likely your date is still open. If your date is close, ask anyway.

How do I hold my date?

A signed agreement and a 50% deposit hold your date. The balance is due 14 days before your event. Everything is handled through HoneyBook.

What if I need to cancel or move my date?

The 50% deposit is non-refundable, since holding your date means turning other events away. Cancel more than 14 days before your event and nothing beyond the deposit is owed. Once final payment comes due at 14 days, the full amount is non-refundable. One reschedule is permitted at no charge with at least 30 days notice, subject to availability within twelve months of your original date.

Is sales tax included?

Prices are before Florida sales tax, which is added at the rate for your event's county.

At your venue

How much space does the bar need?

Six feet wide by five feet deep for the bar and attendants, plus two to three feet in front for guests to gather.

Can the bar be set up outside?

Yes, in shade. Fragrance and heat do not get along, so we keep the concentrates cool and ask for a covered spot rather than direct afternoon sun.

When do you arrive and set up?

About an hour before your guests do. We set up, work around your venue or planner, and leave the space exactly as we found it. Setup and strike are included in every package.

Does my venue need to provide anything?

The bar arrives self-contained, with no power or water needed. We do ask for parking near the entrance and ramp or level access, since the bar and cases are rolled in.

What happens if my event is outdoors and it rains?

We ask every outdoor event to hold a covered backup space. We make the call together by noon the day before based on the forecast, and if conditions change on the day we may move under cover to protect the concentrates. There is no charge for moving indoors.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance?

Yes. We carry business insurance and can send a certificate to your venue on request. Ask early, since some venues want it on file weeks ahead.

The bottles

How long will the scent last?

Wear time varies by blend and by skin. Blends built on sandalwood, amber or vetiver hold longest, while citrus tops are brightest in the first hour. Our attendants can steer a guest toward a longer wearing blend if that is what they want.

What is in the perfume?

Fragrance oils in a perfumer's alcohol base. Ingredient information is available on request, and blotters are always on hand so guests can test on paper before anything goes on skin.

Can guests buy an extra bottle at the event?

Yes. Guests can build and buy an additional bottle at the bar during your event at our retail price of $50.

Can the bottles be customized?

Every bottle carries the Salt & Sillage wordmark. We can add a custom label to the back of the bottle for your event, ordered at least 30 days ahead and quoted separately.
